I did not knit anything today...not a stitch, despite best intentions. There was plenty beckoning me from my stash. But I never actually picked up the needles. I really hate days like that. I make myself busy, as we all do, with numerous responsibilities, and with each one, promise myself..."I'll be working on that shawl later," or " I'll be able to cast on that sock I've been wanting to try." But it just did not happen today. I did work loads on the newsletter (boss!) and I found some really cool stuff to share with ya'll at the end of the week. (No! Really. Cool.)
Also, I got some knitter-ly inspiration at, of all places, B.J.'s Membership Club. (What is the point of those things, by the way? The prices weren't that great).
Anyhoo, there was a nice cardigan in there, with very soft yarn, big buttons and an over-sized collar. I intended to buy it ($17.99), until it dawned on me that I did not have a 'membership' to the 'club' (sorta like that whole Ravelry thing). But, you know me...I stood there and set every detail to memory...the 1x1 ribbing in the collar, sleeves and ribbing, and the number of buttons (8) so that I can knit one just like it. (Hey, you never know, I may actually do it). Then again, my memory is not what it used to be.
Gollum (LOTR) is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Peter Jackson et al. will be making 'The Hobbit.' I'm looking forward to that. Is there a LOTR knit along, by the way? No? I was just wondering....
